Just like in an interview or at the doctor, you better have some questions to ask your real estate agent before making one of the biggest purchases in your life. Here are a collection of some of the toughest questions you should ask your real estate agent:

Why did the Owners decide to sell their home?
Legally, the real estate agent does not need to tell you why, but they will hint at the problem if there is one. Quite often homes are sold for reasons not to do with the house, but you should check to make sure it isn't a reason.

How long has the home been on the market?
Right now, it isn't really a fair question that carries a lot of weight. Everyone is having trouble selling their homes, but if its a having a hard time being sold relative to its neighbors, then you have something to be concerned about.

How many homes are in foreclosure?
If there are too many, its a sign that rates are high and foreclosure is more likely. The area could aslo be economically depressed, indicating your home value will decrease over time.
